Covina Elementary School Reviews

All three of my children have gone to Covina Elementary and I am very happy with the school. The teachers are caring, kind and most importantly competent. The office staff is always helpful. The school is in good repair, and continually makes improvements. They recently added a state-of-the-art media center. One of my children has ADHD and has been known to be a 'handful' and the teachers have always treated him with respect and kindness. The school has plenty of resources available for children with special needs. Covina Elem. is a wonderful school.

I have had two children go through this school and I am very pleased with theirs and my experience there. The teachers are competent, caring individuals who show genuine respect and concern for each child's development, socially and academically. The school offers many opportunities throughout the school year for parents to interact with their children, teachers and staff. They encourage and value parent involvement and communication. I feel extremely lucky to have had my children with such wonderful teachers, principal and staff throughout their most precious years. They maintain high expectations of each individual student and do what is necessary to guarantee their success. I am very pleased with Covina Elementary. The commentary of the parent who saw the teacher disciplining is allowing a one time observation guide their opinion against the whole school and staff. I have never witnessed a teacher discipline a student in a manner different that I would as a parent. Consider yourself lucky if you have the opportunity for your child to attend there. I guarantee, as a parent, you will be satisfied.

Covina Elementary is a diamond in the rough!! The principal and staff are concerned for my child's safety and do everything they can to create a culture of learning and respect. This year their theme is 'Encouraging One Another', I have felt nothing but encouraged as I leave my child in their very capable hands. It's terrible that the other commenter had such a poor experience but he/she really should have spoken to the teacher about his/her concerns and then if they weren't satisfied they should have spoken to the principal. The problem can't be helped if the concerns are not spoken out loud! As for me, I wouldn't have my children anywhere else!

I have been experencing a lack of professional teaching skills from Covina Elm. From the 6th times I've observed a teacher, I was shocked from what I saw and heard from the Teacher focused on her students. Rudeness, scarcasim, and lowing the self-esteem of our young people. The teacher embrarssed her students among other students. Not knowing how to use 'Behavior Modification', can hurt the child, rather than help them. I observed that the Teachers at Covina Elm. are not supervised as much as we would like them to be, thus, lacking the professional skills in the classroom with the students.
