Murphy Ranch Elementary School Reviews

I am a parent of a new MR student. I am really pleased with the instruction at the school. Of course, there is more to learn about the faculty and the principal and I will have to report as I become more familiar with them. However, with regards to the emergency packets, I am not sure that the blame is properly placed on the principal. My understanding is that the PTA is taking care of this by fundraising and donations from the parents.

Wow, I am really surprised to hear someone say that the principal is unapproachable. He has always been more than friendly when I have interacted with him. He knows my daughter, who is in Kinder, by name, and always says hi to me as well as my 3 year old if we happen to pass each other.

I am a parent of one. I moved to the area so my child could attend this school. I would say it is worth it. I like everything about the school academically , but when it comes to activities for the kids I think they lack in that department but everything else makes up for that .

I am a parent of 2 children (and soon 3) who attend MR. I am very pleased with the school! The environment is great and I love the amount of students it has. You get the private school atmosphere without the tuition. In response to the review of the previous parent....you will not find an elementary school with a music and art program. I would hardly call the school 'mediocre'. Any complaints that I might have regarding the lack of programs has more to do with the State, rather than the district itself. I only hope that the new budget cuts don't affect our school too much.

Murphy Ranch is the best public elementary in Whittier. Unfortunately, that says more about the rest of the schools in Whittier than it does Murphy Ranch. The school is nested in a very good and safe neighborhood. Most parents are very proud to send their kids there. The academics are average meaning MR will not compete with high academically minded elementary schools but is better than the other Whittier alternatives. The GATE program for gifted students is mediocre. There is little to no art and music instruction. Daily report slips often give the feel of a day care. Don t be surprised by bad language by older kids hanging the school property after hours. Murphy Ranch with all its warts still comes out ahead as having a wonderful student and parent population. Your child will make many friends at school in a decent environment.

I have 2 children who attend M.R. We moved to this area strictly for the school. Most of the teacher go above and beyond in terms of meeting each child's needs and the school gets TONS of parent involvement. I'm not happy with the fence the school will be getting. It's such a small school and most parents and staff know each other so well; I don't feel safety is an issue - but oh well!

Mr has many fine teachers, students, and families that make this school truly special. Poor teacher support.A great school overall, though.

I am impressed with the academic programs Murphy Ranch obides by.My children come from a private school and MR was up to par in fact above my expectations. The teachers are truely a gem as well as the principal and staff.I thought I had to pay for this kind of quality and as it turns out I don't.It's obvious the parents are very involved with the school and all its activities.I feel very privileged MR has accepted my children to educated them for their future.I am confident my children are in the right school. We intervieded other schools and non other compared to MR's caring, concern or motivation. Thank you Murphy Ranch for your excellence!

My children started with ms. raymond in k she is amaziiiing. The parents are all very involved and demand to be heard. The principal is very short tempered with people and has outdated ideas. We neeeed afence around our school.. The only reason it is considered safe is because there are always parents on campus somewhere or another. great school, mediocre principal.

This school is outstanding. The teachers are very friendly and work well with the children. I am very pleased. My son loves his teacher and is really looking forward to starting the new year.

My daughter started her academic career at Murphy Ranch with Ms Raymond and her kindergarten class. I could not ask for a better environment for child. She learned a lot in a safe, clean and fun environment. If you live in the school district and have the opportunity to have your children attend Murphy Ranch, you should consider yourself lucky.
