Glenelder Elementary School Reviews

I took my son out of this school after 2 weeks. The teachers were supposed to meet the kids at 8 a.m. 8:10 was the earliest they ever showed during that 2 week period in Nov.Routine should be established by then. My son goes by his middle name & the teachers refused to call him by that. She said: 'we have a rule, the students call us by our first name & we call them by their 1st names'. It was crazy. The breakfast & luches are 50% white flour based. The chicken is breaded, some form of bread is served each day, even with a breaded product. Sample breakfasts were: churro & milk (a deep fried donut rolled in sugar & a small milk is breakfast? To help them think for the day??) or 1/2 a granola bar & milk (not enough for a bird). Lots left to say.

As a parent of a student who attends Glendelder, I feel there needs to be much more parent involvement with motivating all the students to attend school as scheduled and most importantly to turn in there homework. Without this motivation at home from the parents it makes it very difficult for those students who are totally committed to there education to be successful in there future endeavors. The teachers need to be more controlling when it comes to this and demand all students contribute there share. If more parents cared about there childrens education at this school it would do so much better academically, then maybe more funds would be contributed to the school for all the necessary improvements and extra ciricular activities this school is in dyer need of so that we involved parents don't have to consider inter-district transfers to better schools in the area.
