Lomita Math/Science/Technology Magnet Reviews

i went to this school and i thought it was great ! the people were very friendly and the city has a low rating of gangs and things there because of cops patroling 24/7

Lomita Math/Science Magnet is a wonderful school. I put my first child through it and had great success that I am putting my second child in too. This school is very fast paced as it is a Magnet school and not an average elementary school. The teachers and staff are top notch, outstanding, and very caring. I am proud to have my children go to Lomita Magnet and you should too. It is refreshing to see the dedication of the Principal Mrs. Branscomb, and Mr. Beale at every event answering questions and making the parents feel well informed. They even have a special program for Hispanics to acclimate them into the school and welcome the diversity.

My kids have had two of the best teachers in the world, Miss Evans and Mr. Burns. They both made learning fun for my two kids and they are wonderful educators. Keep up the hard work.... I hope my other child gets them as well.

Lomita is very overcrowded especially in the upper grades curriculum is very fast paced so if your child is sick for a few days forget it they offer very little in the way of safty net for these kids. I had to do it all over again I would of chosen a differnt school for my kids

I must say this school does have some wonderful points. We have Teachers who care and work well with parents from varying backgrounds and students with a phletora of learning challenges and insecurities. Both my children and I have enjoyed the pleasure of working with Ms Bobb, Ms Hsieh, Ms Suh, and of course Mr Burns. I would have loved the school to have included a music instruments class for their after school program- but really overall this school is pretty good for a Los Angeles Unified School.

This school number one priority seems to be how much more money can they qualify for; the PTA act like a bunch of 'clicky' high school girls, and are so busy patting each other on the back they cant even see the examples that they are setting for these children. I am going to be so very glad when my kids graduate this year !

It's a good school, with decent teachers. It's a bit too strict in some ways for my taste, but other than that there is nothing wrong with this school.

Great school and teachers. Could use more activities and some playground grass areas. Lunch is less than to be desired.

I feel that the school's name is very misleading. My opinions of the school are mediocre, there certainly are better schools around. But since my son is only in kindergarden and all kindergardens are the same it is an OK school. Mostly we send him there because we live right across the street. He will not be attending this school from 1st grade on.
