Cubberley Elementary School Reviews

This school fundraises too much, and nothing seems to get done. There are rules, but nothing is strictly enforced. The disciplinary actions are inadequate.

I have been very happy with my children's education at Cubberley. They have high, but reasonable expectations, but they are not high pressure. The fundraising was out of control, but they have recently created a foundation which will work to make those fundraisers more effective and efficient. I love that they offer well rounded alternative sof rthe kids to choose from. I am looking forward to many more wonderful years at Cubberley.

As a teacher and a parent I am deeply disappointed in Cubberley. They constantly raise money, and lots of it, yet ask for money and donations for everything, awards assemblies, field trips, pencils, etc... Also, it seems the K-4 teachers are carrying the test scores. 5-8 scores are awful considering the population. For a 'Distinguished School' I don't see much that stands out and it's very upsetting.

My daughter currently attends 7th grade at Cubberley and she loves it! They offer such wonderful programs such as spanish and creative writing. I highly reccomend this school.

I think Cubberley is a terrific school. My son will be going into 4th grade in the fall and has been there since kindergarten. He has not had an easy time academically, particularly in math and reading, since his very first day. Yet, he has always gotten the extra attention he's needed to help him in his problem areas, without him feeling singled out or less worthy than any of his classmates. His teachers have been able to encourage him and keep him motivated to try his hardest and do his best even during the most frustrating of times. He has always enjoyed school and looks forward to going. His teachers have also been great about keeping my husband and I aware of how he's doing on a daily basis and have been available to us when we've had questions or concerns' big or small. I couldn't ask for more!

This school provides lots of fun parent/student activities and the kids seem very happy here.

Cubberley has got to be one of the best schools ever for the quality of teachers. Not only are the teachers engaged in their work, but they communicate well within their grade level with the other teachers. The administration is great too. In this day and age of teacher burn out Cubberley is the exception. My last will be graduating this year and I'll miss Cubberley.

I have been very happy with the quality of my kids education. The principal creates a great environment for children to learn, which trickles down throughout the school.

My daughter has definitely received a quality eduaction at this school. I feel that they emphasize standardized testing and scores too much, but I think that that is pretty commonplace these days. Cubberley has fantastic and dedicated teachers. The biggest downside is the PTA. Parental involvement is good and opportunities do exist w/out having to join the PTA.

My child has attended Cubberley since kindergarten and now is in the 7th grade. This is an outstanding school with lots of parent support and a wonderful staff that supports student acheivement

My two children attend Cubberley and I couldn't praise it more highly. The academic program is rigorous and challenging, the music and sports programs are top notch, and the parent involvement is outstanding.
