Jefferson Leadership Academies Reviews

its a safe and nice school for young adults

I am a student at Jefferson and I think it is a great school. Teachers and staff are very supportive and treat students with respect. This school has great programs like A.V.I.D which gets students motivated to attend college and obtain a career. Academic wise, Jefferson offers an outstanding learning environment as a result of its single gender configuration. The professional and dedicated staff and teachers at Jefferson are always willing to help students out with any extra help they may need. Overall, staff tries their best to maintain the school campus clean and safe for students. Jefferson is not a school for dummies as some parents think; it is an excellent school that offers a great education for those students that take advantage of it. Personally, I am very proud to be part of the student body at Jefferson.

It has wonderful teachers like d. Sowells

Parent involvement is very low at this school. Students are not supported at home and homework is not a priority to the students because of this lack of support. This lack of academic support carries over to many of the students and they do not understand the value of having an excellent education, which is offered at this school. My daughter excels at Jefferson, but I make sure she does her studies at home and I check her progress reports and planner to make sure that she is behaving and completing her work.

Jefferson needs a lot of work. The faculty and teachers seem to be supportive to the children, however, i think they just have too much to do. Long Beach really needs to focus on these schools that need help. The sad thing is that my daughter thinks that she is a 'dummy' because she was sent to jefferson and not accepted to one of the other 'smart' schools (stanford, rogers, hill). Something needs to change. The district needs to show some support for these students who are struggling otherwise this will never change.

This school is very dirty. If everyone can put their 'hands' in and help that school, it would help the students that go their improve on their education. Personally, I would never want my kids going to this school

This school is a great school . They have great teachers that take time out of there way to help students. They have a great program called avid and it helps kids have a more understanding of college

This is a terrible school. I recomend that there should be some cleaning up around that school. The staff all-in-all is pretty good though.

No foundation and no support from adminstrators. This school was rank number one statewide and nationwide. Improvement needed.

Good School with hard working teachers.

Parents complain that their children cant learn and the school is broken down. If the parents were a bit more involved it might help a little bit give a little and the more your kid will recive.

The perimeter of the school was litered with trash, the benches out on the playground were broken beyond repair, the basketball court nets were broken, the walls outside were filthy, the tarp along the fence to block the outside view in was ripped and in poor
