Keller Elementary School Reviews

My two children went to Keller for two years, beginning in second grade and kindergarten. Second grade was disappointing. My daughter never covered the material she had learned at her previous school, in first grade, and actually regressed in math. Reading was stagnant. Also, her dyslexia was never addressed, as the administration tried to convince me she just had culture shock and needed to read more at home. Her third grade teacher was an angel of insight, addressed my daughter's special needs, even without support from the admin; and my daughter excelled. It's 'hit and miss' at Keller, depending on the teacher you get. My son was very happy and I think both his teachers were great. Although he did well at Keller, he was behind at the school he transfered to for second grade.

My daughter attended Keller for 2 yrs before we moved to San Antonio,TX and I loved this school; Teachers there are awesome, my child exceeded my expectations there with all the support of the school staff and all that the school has to offer.

This is a great school. High test scores, caring teachers and staff, curriculum-based rigorous instruction, and a good plan for the success of all students. My son graduated from Keller, my daughter attends now, and my little one is a future Keller scholar. I think they are accepting school of choice applicants now too! We love it.

Helen Keller School is wonderfull. The teachers there are the best in the world. The students are happy to be a part of the many things on campus. The teachers at Keller care about their kids. The children on campus are respectfull, caring, and take part in character building assemblys about every month. They have all day kindergarten, and extended day for 4th and 5th grade. There is Kids club on campus for parents who need extended day care on campus, as well as recreational play on campus for 1-3 grades. They have a wonderfull music program, art teacher, BSA Cub Scouts, GSA Brownie's, librarian, science teacher as well as computer lab. My son has made such wonderfull progress at this school! I cannot say enough wonderfull things about this school, it's staff, and caring principal. The principal is doing a terrific job of making it a neighborhood school.
