I have observed a lack of respect in manner os speech coming from some of these teachers towards the students, as well as some of the high leveled staff members. They seem to miss the teaching opportunities for these kids, which puts aside their promise to the parents to instill success. Success starts with positive well-being. Aside from one very good English teacher, I thought most teachers' instruction was too easy and/or they seemed 'burned out' and uninterested the in subject matter. Some of the teaching staff seem ill prepared or lacking experience, hence the quality of education suffers. Also found the teaching methods for sex education to be inappropriate and not on point. Generally concerned with the lack of preparation my child is receiving for Wilson. Orchestra teacher is an enormous benefit to the school as is the instruction from the Phys. Overall the school is doing well with safety and discipline. I do question if the quality of instruction is really preparing them for the rigours of the Distinguished Program at Wilson. Their rocation wheel greatly limited science exposure which will cause a challenge in High school. Also no foreign language program is a real deficiet. New principal this year has not yet made any postive or negatitive changes and its the second new counselor in so many years. Staff are very dedicated and capable, the school atmosphere is safe, and discipline is a top priority of the administration. Students have a number of extracurricular activities available, including a great Music program, after-school theater, and sports. It was a great experience to learn and grow with one another (students and teachers). For three years I've seen my fellow classmates and teachers learn and help one another. The teachers really do care about the students. They put fourth an effort that truely shows. We were very focoused on academics, but we were just as strong in sports. I was in the Scholorship program for three straight years and I would like to thank the teachers for challenging me. I also had the pribilege to be Fall Student Body President it was truely an honor. Honestly, Rogers wasn't my choice to attend but, now when I think about how much I've learned and developed into the young lady I am today I dont regret it.”
