Isaac L. Sowers Middle School Reviews

Sowers middle school is a great school. They maintain a well balanced academic program, sports and other extracurricular activities for kids.

My third child is in 8th grade and the staff at Sowers has been terrific to each and every one of them. Each child was different and some needed more help and discipline than the others. The staff understood each child's needs and gave them the appropriate attention necessary to ensure their success. The prior principal was wonderful to the students and will be greatly missed. Two of my three children went thru the GATE program, so I can say with experience that GATE or no GATE, the staff at Sowers has the children's best interest and education at heart.

Sowers has great fun electives and after school programs

I am recently going to this school and it is really good because they have god electives and give you a lot of choices. for example they have choir, band, kids in the kitchen etc. one bad thing there at sowers is that the girls there are very rude... they act like they are cool. they where these booty shorts and get away with it. its like not one teacher cares and expects some of these girls to learn on their own. the guys there are just plain weird. im not trying to be rude to anyone in paticular, im just trying to help the parents know about the school, and we'll i say yes and no to coming to the school. and one good reason is that there is no fights.

Every teacher treats their students so appropriately and with tons of love!

Overall the school is pretty good. Some of the teachers just really don't care and often the office staff acts like they are way to busy for you and that you are bothering them. It is difficult to get any help if your students isn't performing well. Hopefully having a new Principal will make a difference. The previous one had some serious issues with many students and parents.

Sowers is great. Some of the teachers are a little weird, but you learn a lot. Easy to make lots of friends. Average homework time for 8th grade is about 4 hours, but it really isn't a big deal.

Wonderful, very helpfull office staff. A few (not many awesome teachers) Great academics however if your child is not perfoming above average they are ignored and tossed aside :( Thank goodness there is a new principal any replacement has to be an improvement

Some of the teachers need to retire. My daughter was harassed and humiliated by a teacher who is in need of retirement. THere are many teachers there who are old and burned out on teaching. I understand how teachers are under paid but it is not a reason to treat good kids badly and bring down there confidence level. I pulled my daughter out and put her in a wonderful private school!

My son has attended Issac Sowers for the past four years. He is the type of student that most teachers would say is ADHD. Because of his lack of attention in the classromm, he was recognized as an at risk student. My husband and I were very suprised at the atttention the staff and principal gave our son to ensure his success. He Scored above garde level on all state required tests. We are fortunate that Issac Sowers gives its students the tools and personal attention that it takes to make a difference and prepare them for the real world.
