Edison High School Reviews

Edison is a pretty good school. It is rather crowded but with the budget as it is I'm assuming that most schools are likewise. I really enjoy the block schedule that is offered. It allows for a longer break time, which is definitely needed when lines in the bathroom are extending to outside the door. The reason I gave Edison 4 stars is because the food is awful. Not only is it bad tasting, it is almost impossible to eat on time. Despite this small setback, I enjoy attending Edison very much.

edison high school has a great learning environment &it's a fun and safe place to be at.

edison was fun and a great environment not only in the educational sense, but also the social ambience sense!!

Edison High School was a huge disappointment to me. I am a former student and before attending Edison I had just moved here from out of state. Edison is over crowded, the students have poor discipline, and the classes are not challenging. Not exactly a welcoming atmosphere, as all high schools have their own social groups, its hard to find a place to fit in.

I do not like the block scheduling and particularly the '0' period at 7am. Too early for anyone. Two hour classes may be okay for honor students but too long to focus for most. I am adamently again not having a 5th period when a student is in sports. Rules or no rules, Frosh and Soph's can walk off campus from lunch at 12:15 until 2:30 to 3 pm. Not Good. Please....only an honor student may stay and 'study', definitely not the normal kid and not mine. Too much down time, too hard to get back on track. Then sports can go to 6 pm or later, they are tired having been at school since 7 am, and who can study when tired and it's that late after dinner. Student says all homework done in class...I have seen None at home.

I do not like the Block scheduling that Edison High School has but if you have a child that excels this school has some wonderful programs (Cibac's, Mun) great sports too. If you have a student that is average and poor at taking tests this may not be the school for your kid. I also feel the school is very over crowded. They have some wonderful teachers but some of the science teachers need an attitude adjustment. They also have a wonderful sign language teacher but she went on maternity leave and the fill in teacher was horrible! So basically Edison has some wonderful qualities and also qualities that aren't so appealing. If your child can't handle 2 hr classes this would not be the right school. Good and poor teachers are at every school. So if you get a incapadible teacher

We are very happy with the quality of education our children have received at Edison. There are some incredible enrichment programs offered to students (CIBACS, MUN) and the sports programs are excellent.

Good school, great sports

This school is excellent with a consistently high AYP score. The acdemics excell and now that they have a new principal in D'liese Melendrez there is a new school-wide morale boost that also helps the kids love where they are. My only criticsm is over-crowding.

Excellent school. Good teachers. Great location. Solid educational experience.

The school has some excellent teachers and some distinctive academic classes such as 'Model United Nations' and a certificate program in international business. Parental involvment is strong and is aided by teacher-parent email communication. Because of budget cuts, it has limited course offerings of electives and more vocational type classes. In sports, the school tea
