I am disappointed when parents want to leave because of the open enviroment. It teaches children to be respectful of others. The farm is a really nice extra, the kids take pride in helping and caring for the animals. It is a great school. There is a large focus on reading at this school however, I think they could focus a little more on math. His teacher is wonderful. He absolutely loves going to school! We have recently purchased a house out of Golden View boundaries, but within the Ocean View school district, and I am going to get a transfer to have both my son (1st grade) and my daughter (kindergarten) go there next year. It has special day classes and english language learners from outside of its attendence area so the API scores are deflated. It is a strong school with a core of young, compasionate, enthusiastic teachers. It is a shame that they don't have a program to keep gifted and talented students on the campus. The principal is very involved and provides great leadership. Having someone who cares is an asset that can't be measured. We were also quite fortunate to have our child's teacher receive the district wide Teacher of the Year award. Without a doubt, it was an well deserved recognition for a truly remarkable person. Her command of the classroom was amazing. The curriculm is strong and the activities are geared for fun and learning. The student body is a diverse one. O
