Palmyra Elementary School Reviews

My granddaughter Raven Poole began at that school until she went to live with her father last year, my nephew and sister now live here from Michigan and my nephew now goes to Palmyra. I have been on the PTA board and was active throughout the time my granddaughter attended there. I am hoping to become active again with Palmyra. I believe that this school is above the rest. They care and show how much they care about their school and their students.

My daughter attended this school for 2 1/2 years til we moved out of state. The teachers are awesome and Mrs. Smith is a great principal and is great with the kids. The office staff is wonderful also, they dealt everyday with my daughter that is in special education and has multiple problems with her peers. They were very patient with her at all times. We really miss this school. Kim S.

I have 4 Children currently enorolled; 4th grade GATE (beed here since 1st grade), 3rd grade (since K), 1st grade (since K)and one Kindergarten. The teachers, principal, and staff are all wonderful. Maybe we put too much emphasis on what teacher's don't do and not enough on what they do. Parent's need to be involved as well. Overall Palmyra gets an A+. Thank you teachers and Staff!

I enrolled my child in the school last year when we moved into the neighborhood. I could not have been more disappointed. The academic program is not challenging and the classrooms are overcrowded. I'm putting her back in private school.

We have been very pleased with the academics at Palmyra since our two kids transferred there three years ago. My son's 6th-grade GATE class did lots of writing and projects. My daughter's (non-GATE) 4th, 5th and 6th grade classes have been rigorous in the basics. She has had experienced teachers who are good at handling the 32-student classes. There aren't a lot of frills, although there is an Art Masters program and through this year at least, Instrumental Music. But they both have learned a lot more than they did at their previous schools, which were more creative, progressive etc. My daughter's curriculum has been very worksheet-intensive, but she's really learning her language and math skills. The school doesn't have as strong a social network for parents as our kids' previous schools, but there are dedicated volunteers, and the principal has a great positive spirit.

Our experience at Palmyra has been a positive one so far. The teachers really do care about the children as individuals primarily, and about their educational success.

My son attended sixth grade this year and I found this school to be very supportive and very organized compared to his previous elementary school. It made the transition much easier.

This school is great! Mrs. Smith the new Principal is wonderful. She has really improved the overall moral of our teachers and staff.
