Woodsboro Elementary School Reviews

Woodsboro is a fantastic school. We have a a wonderful principal and wonderful teachers. The GATE program is what brought our family to this school 2 years ago. It felt like home from day one. I would highly recommend this school for all children. I believe your child will definitely excel academically as well as socially.

Woodsboro is an excellent school, when you get the great teachers we did such as Mrs Howard, Mrs Grimsley, and Mrs Blasius. Mrs Murray and Mrs Henderson are wonderful. Woodsboro is the place to be, with Mrs Mann as the great front person, all the wonderful volunteers and all the staff support. I recommend this school to any parent that cares about their child.

If you have a special needs child, Woodsboro and PYLUSD are not for you. We had an awful time with teacher communication and school Psychologist assistance. It was a battled that exhausted our finances and caused our daughter to deteriorate emotionally. I would not recommend this school at all for families with children who have special needs.

The new principal could be more supportive. There seems alot of struggling students that need the extra help. My daughter was one of them. She started at this school in kindergaren and left at 4th grade. We could not get the school to give her the help she needed, She did have a wonderful 4th grade teacher that helped her alot. Woodsboro is a good school in a great neighborhood but if your child needs extra help, just be prepaired to fight for the help.

Woodsboro is a great little school in a great neighborhood. The teachers for the most part are wonderful. The principal could be more supportive.

Woodsboro is an excellent school. The teachers and staff are wonderful and the extracurricular programs are the best I have seen. They are the GATE magnet for the school district and parents are very active at all grade levels.

Both of my boys love the school and the teachers. I am especially impressed with how the teachers and principal are so warm and caring towards my children. There is an extremely high number of parent volunteers. For example, a 2nd grade class with 18 students has 7 parent volunteers who come in for 2 or more hours a week. The teacher is amazing at setting out a curriculum to continue to challenge students at an advance academic level. In the 2nd grade class, there are students working at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade math levels. You can also find students being instructed with 2nd-5th grade level materials in this second grade class. My sons are so enthusiastic about Woodsboro.

My children went and one still attends Woodsboro Elementary. In spite of weak principal leadership to the kids, the teachers, and the parents; the teaching staff (approx 26)is uniquely superlative with only a very few rare exceptions. There is a high sense of community pride in this school as it is situated in the middle of the neighborhood it serves. This also accounts for the high level of parental involvement in classrooms and other school related organizations. Teachers are always open and available to the kids and parents and consistent interactive communication is highly encouraged. There is a keen sense of early intervention for struggling students. The school also offers GATE classes in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Overall, Woodsboro is a great place for a kid to begin their education.
