Adams Elementary School Reviews

I currently have 3 children at Adams, 1 child is academically advanced, 1 is academically deficient and 1 is just above average. This school does not meet the needs of any of my children. I am disappointed in the teachers, special services and principle. There is no Gate program for gifted children although the school receives funds for those students at that level. The children are passed to the next grade regardless of difficulties with the current grade.

Parent involvement is highly valued at Adams School. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved, including 'Eat Lunch with Your Child' days once a month, monthly 'Family Nights,' and classroom volunteering. The teachers also invite parents into the classrooms to learn key reading comprehension strategies along with their children. Parents are encouraged to participate in academic decisions by joining the School Site Council, and have many opportunities to volunteer through the PTA. My child is in 5th grade and his teacher is using technology in unique and creative ways. The teacher is trained in using the Promethean board and the students can interact with their learning by accessing a variety of websites.

This school needs lots of help. There should be more classroom monitoring.

Very focused on the children and their familys.
