It's a sad day when the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater, formerly known as the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, closes in fall 2016 after 35 years. It is an amphitheater in Irvine, California, and also known by its original name, the Orange County Music Festival, is one of the largest music festivals in North America.
The amphitheater has been able to host a number of popular music festivals, including the Orange County Music Festival, Project Fest and Pacific Amp. The first event calendar is in good shape and includes some of the biggest names in the music industry as well as a host of local and national artists. This calendar offers a mix of genres, including well-known acts such as Kool & the Gang, Big Boi, Willie Nelson, Brett Dennison and many more. Among the big names who have passed through the Pacific Amp are the Foo Fighters, K.I.R.D., Kacey Musgraves, Snoop Dogg, Willy Wonka, Billy Gibbons, Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday and many more.
In 1999 and 2000, one of the country's ten high schools was named the GRAMMY Signature School's Gold Recipient. It has won the Macy's Award for outstanding orchestras and musicals three times and has performed at the San Bernardino County Performing Arts Center, Los Angeles Opera and Santa Monica Opera.

Like Irvine's education culture, it is my sincere hope that the Irvine Music Festival will be a wonderful memory for young musicians for many years to come. The city's National Grove is consistently in the top 10 stops in North America.
